Sam Witwicky

ᐊ CHARACTER ᐅ

Sam Witwicky wanted what every young teenage boy wanted: a hot car, the hot, popular girl, and a chance to rise from mediocrity and spend his remaining years of high school as the social outcast/geek who accomplished 'everything'.

What did happen wasn't exactly what he had planned, and it all started with the first part of the plan - the car.

After just barely talking his teacher in to an A- for his genealogy report (which was really more like an eBay auction gone wrong, which him trying to pawn off his explorer great grandfather's effects), his father, Ron, held up his end of the bargain to pay for half of his first car. One joke drive through a Porche sales lot later, they wound up at Bobby Boliva's car lot. Sam would have wound up with a car that really would have done the opposite of his teenage dream had the Autobot Bumbleebee not been hiding in the lot as a yellow and black striped old-model 1976 Camaro. Sam wanted the Camaro, Ron didn't want to go over 4,000$, Boliva wasn't willing to settle for that little for a 'vintage sports car'.

It should have ended there, but Bumblebee obviously had a feeling about Sam, and with a great blast of sound from his internal speakers, was able to burst the window of every other car in the lot. Bolivia, terrified of the car, dropped the price down to 4,000$, and Sam drove away in the Camaro, still unknowing that it was really an alien.

Sam and his slightly ADD buddy Miles went cruising in his newly acquired car, heading to the lake where Sam (by some kind of stalker-ish miracle) knew that a party with the 'popular kids' would be taking place, and namely that the girl of his dreams would be there. Sure enough, Mikaela Banes was right where he expected her to be, but with that came her meat-head of a boyfriend, Trent. A small argument ensued with Trent telling Miles and Sam to get lost, but Mikaela diffused the situation.

At least until she asked Trent if she could drive his truck. His response was less than stellar, and rather that continue to deal with him, Mikaela dumped him on the spot and began the ten-mile trek home on foot.

Ever-helpful Bumblebee turned on The Cars' "Drive" as a push to get Sam to help Mikaela out, which resulted in Sam apparently forgetting 'bros before hos' (and that she was a 'evil jock concubine') and literally kicking Miles out of the car to offer Mikaela a ride home. Apparently it was okay for Miles to make the ten mile walk back to the city, even though there was a backseat to the Camaro that either one of them could have sat in.

After some awkward conversation, Bumblebee deciding to be even more 'helpful' by breaking down for a short time, Sam eventually got Mikaela home safely, ending the night with a terribly lame 'I think there's more to you than meets the eye' when she asked if he thought she was shallow.

Regardless, he thought his made progress with her, and went to bed that night riding on a happy high. At least until his car came to life and drove itself away. Thinking it was being stolen, Sam panicked and followed to an abandoned junkyard where he witnessed Bumblebee transform in to his Autobot form for the first time. Terrified that his car was alive, he left a message for his parents in the event that he should die, then called the police. By the time the police arrived, though, Bumblebee had driven off and left Sam to take the heat for breaking and entering and possibly being on drugs.

Sam's dad bailed him out after he was intimidated by a rather overzealous cop believing him to be doped up on 'Mojo' pills (which were really his dog's medication for a broken leg), and returning home he found that Bee had also come back. Still unaware of the Autobot's purpose on Earth, he fled on his mother's bike, swearing that "Satan's Camaro" was going to come and kill him.

He went in to the city, Bee hot on his tail until he crashed in to Mikaela on her blue Vespa scooter. His frantic explanation of the situation didn't impress her, and he went in search of a police officer, only to find that the police cruiser he had located was not going to be of any help to him. It transformed in to the Decepticon Barricade and went after Sam, demanding to know where the glasses belonging to Archibald Witwicky were located. Mikaela arrived just as Bee did as well, saving both of them from Barricade and taking them to a power plant where him and Barricade battled it out.

During that fight, Barricade also discharged Frenzy, a small, spastic Decepticon to try and take out the humans. Mikaela proved her status as hot, car-knowing warrior woman by decapitating Frenzy with a power saw after he pantsed Sam and sent him running. Bee defeated Barricade, and Sam was finally able to speak to his very-much-alive Camaro.

Bee, unfortunately, had a damaged vocal processor, but was able to communicate as he had been already - through the radio. With that he was able to tell them that he was an alien from space, and that he was there to be Sam's guardian. When Bee turned back in to his alternate form, Sam convinced Mikaela to come with him by saying "fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you wanna say you had the guts to get into the car?"

Bee took them to an observatory to watch the arrival of the other Autobots, then drove them to an abandoned alley to meet up with them. Introductions were given, and Mikaela asked why they were on earth. Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, answered.

Sam's Great Grandfather, Archibald, had taken a team of explorers to the Arctic circle in 1897. Archibald inadvertently found the last, frozen resting place of the Decepticon Megatron. When touching Megatron partially woke him, Archibald's glasses became etched with the location of the most precious possession to the Cybertronian beings: the All-Spark. The Autobots were there to find the All-Spark before the Decepticons, and hopefully before they also found Megatron and revived him as well. To do that, they needed Sam, and they needed the glasses.

Easier said than done, of course, as the glasses were back at his house, and the Autobots were instant they come along with to retrieve them. The whole thing resulted in a horrible mess of autobots failing to hide very well, wrecking his parents yard, and generally bumbling around while Sam tried to keep said parents away from finding out the truth about his car and what they'd discovered. It was made even more awkward by Mikaela coming out of hiding in his room and causing his slightly drunk mother, Judy to declare that she was the prettiest girl she'd ever seen.

They did find the glasses, though, but only in time for a parade of government agents to come tearing through their house and make even more problems. Sam, Mikaela, Judy and Ron were all taken in to custody, the kids separated from the adults as a man named Agent Simmons with a so called 'Sector Seven' department of the government questioned them about aliens, demanding answers to the message Sam put on his phone the night Bee left. He threatened Sam with imprisonment and revealed Mikaela's record as well as the truth about her father being in jail.

Sam was less than impressed, both with Agent Simmons and with Mikaela hiding so much about herself, but any further questioning was subverted by the arrival of Optimus who informed Simmons that taking the children was very, very bad idea. After thoroughly humiliating Simmons and trying to get answers as to what Sector Seven was, a backup team arrived for Simmons, forcing them to feel. They and the Autobots attempted to escape, but failed badly when Sam and Mikaela very nearly fell to their deaths while trying to cling to Optimus in hiding. Bee risked his cover and saved them, and while the rest of the Autobots did escape, Sam, Bee, and Mikaela were all taken in to custody this time and driven to the Hoover Dam.

Agent Simmons tried again to talk to Sam about what was going on, but Sam was uninterested in giving him any information. The leader of Sector Seven then tried to bribe Sam, but Sam turned it around on him and said he'd give them all he knew if they released Bee, gave his parents back, and as an added bonus, erased Mikaela's juvie record.

The terms were agreed to, and they were taken in to the lower levels of the dam where Sector Seven had taken and hidden the frozen Megatron from the arctic circle, and where they had also hidden the All-Spark. Sam told them of Megatron's intentions of getting the All-Spark and destroying humanity, but before anything further could be done Frenzy, who had been tagging along in Mikaela's purse the entire time as her cell phone went and sent a message to the rest of the Decepticons: Megatron was there, along with the All-Spark, and victory was all but theirs.

Aware that they were in some serious trouble, Sam begged again for Bee's release, saying he could help. Once Bee was finally out of custody and away from the agents trying to freeze him, he took the All-Spark, shrunk it to a portable size, and gave it to Sam to protect. The Decepticons launched their attack on the dam. Sam and Mikaela, under the care of military personnel (namely Captian Lennox) who had survived an attack of their own in the Iraqi desert, were taken to Misson City, NV while others, like Agent Simmons, a hacker from DC and his government-employed friend Maggie Maddison, stayed behind to try and fend off the attack from inside the dam.

Having the All-Spark, though, meant that Sam was doomed to be followed to Misson City, where the battle finally came to a head, Optimus and the then-unfrozen Megatron battling it out while Sam tried desperately to flee with the precious cube and get it in to to government hands. Bee was damaged in the fight, his legs nearly blown completely off, but it was Mikaela who saved him by attaching him to a long-arm towing truck to get him out of harm's way while the soldiers continued to duke it out with the rest of the Decepticons.

Megatron came after Sam, claiming he would let him live as a pet if Sam handed over the All-Spark. Despite being god-awfully terrified, Sam refused, and nearly fell to his death AGAIN ff the side of a multi-story building, only to be caught by Optimus this time. Optimus begged Sam to put the All-Spark to his chest, which would have destroyed it but him as well in the process. Sam never got a chance to protest or comply, as Megatron reentered the battle and attempted once more to kill Sam.

In a move of last minute desperation, Sam instead put the cube to Megatron, letting him take its full power in to his spark, finally defeating him and ending the battle for Mission City. Sam, along with his new found friends, brought peace to Earth and prevented a major disaster from occurring. Megatron's remains, along with the remains of other defeated Decepticons, were dropped in to the Laurentian Abyss. Sam and Mikaela returned home with Bee, hoping that despite knowing and befriending alien robots, that their life might return some what to normal.

Sector Seven was dissolved, the Autobots joined up with a then promoted Major Lennox to help look for remaining pieces of the All-Spark as well as any Decepticons in hiding or anything turned by fragments of the cube. They called this new division NEST, and rather than being government run, it was mainly headed up by military personnel from all over the world.

Mikaela's father got out of jail, forcing her to stay in Tranquility and take care of him as he was apparently a 'manchild' and incapable of doing so himself. Sam got himself accepted to Princeton University. This made things tense not only between him and Bee, because he couldn't have a car as a freshman by that university's rules, it was making things even more difficult between him and Mikaela. Both were having problems using the 'l' word to one another despite all that they had gone through, and with Sam gallivanting off to be as far away from his parents as possible, they were going to have to chance a long distance relationship or call the whole thing off. But Mikaela was willing to give it a try and wait for Sam to finish college for them to be together. This was, of course, with the hope that nothing else would happen to them.

But things rarely ever go right for Sam Witwicky...

Just before he was due to pack up and leave on the road trip with his parents, he found a shard of the All-Spark, broken off in the jacket he wore during the battle in Mission City. It burned him when he touched it, and in a flash an insane amount of information had suddenly been put in his head. He didn't get a chance to dwell on it, though, because when he dropped it, it burned completely through the floor of his bedroom and landed in the kitchen, activating the appliances in a burst of energy and turning them in to Minicons. Sam called for Bee to help dispatch them, but it in turn upset his parents fairly badly, enough to the point where his mom was threatening to not take her trip to Paris with Ron.

Once everything had been calmed, though, Sam said goodbye to Mikaela and Bee (who put up quite a fit about not being able to go) and headed off to college. Within the first day, though, his mom acquired some weed-laced brownies and proceeded to go all over campus, declaring things about Sam's love life better left private. With Ron's help they were able to get her in the car and, thankfully, anything further was averted.

It was just a prelude of what was to come, though. The information that Sam had indifferently picked up from the shard began to overload his brain. At a party he was dragged to (accidental causing him and Mikaela to miss their first web cam date), he started drawing out glyphs on a table with chocolate, gaining the attention of a girl named Alice that his roommate Leo had a massive crush on. Though he tried to his best to avert her advances, saying repeatedly that he had a girlfriend, he was only saved when Bee showed up, having a message from Optimus to deliver. However Alice forced herself in to the car, much to Bee's irritation. So much so that Bee made continued attempts to get her out, eventually ending with spraying coolant in her face from the interior.

Sam was less than amused. It had nothing to do with the fact that a smoking hot girl was hitting on him (or so he claimed) and really more to do with Bee's behavior in general, and how he showed up at Princeton when he was supposed to stay back home in Tranquility. Bee responded by taking him to an isolated graveyard to speak to Optimus about a threat he received regarding the Fallen. Optimus feared that the war would begin again. Sam, however, stated that it wasn't his war, that he just wanted to be a normal college student and not get involved again. Optimus let him leave, but not without letting him know that he really was needed.

Sam went back to school and tried to forget about the conversation. During his astronomy class he began to have some kind of a fit, reading through the astronomy text in seconds flat and then attempting to disprove the teacher's lesson by using Cybertronian information. Appaled at his own behavior he fled the classroom with the teacher angrily bellowing at him not to interrupt his class, and went to call Mikaela. While he was rambling on about having a complete breakdown in class, she became aware that there was a small Decepticon named Wheelie trying to get at the All-Spark shard Sam had entrusted her with. She captured Wheelie after burning out his optic with a blowtorch, and Sam asked her to fly out to him with the All-Spark piece, hoping she would get there before crap hit the fan.

Unfortunately for Sam, Alice was still interested in him (which at this point was indication enough that something was totally wrong with the girl), and just seconds after having yet another fit in his dorm room, drawing the Cybertronian glyphs over any surface he could manage, Alice attempted to pin him to the bed. Rather than doing so to actually have her way with him, she revealed herself to be an organic-type Decepticon wanting the information now inside Sam's head as well as eventually put a stop to Leo's Transformer-information website The Real Effin Deal.com. Mikaela arrived just in time to see Alice on top of her boyfriend, and declared that their relationship was over, angrily storming off just as Leo returned to tell them both that something was very wrong with Alice. It was at that moment that Sam began screaming (not unlike a girl in pitch and sound) and Mikaela returned to the room, whacking Decepticon-Alice with the box Wheelie was in and giving them a chance to flee for the library, dragging poor, very confused Leo along with them. An argument and explosion in the campus' library later, they found themselves a car that Mikaela hot-wired and crushed Alice beneath the tires, fleeing for their lives.

It wasn't over, though. Megatron had been located by his Decepticon forces and brought back, and they were in hot pursuit of Sam and his friends. Grindor dropped a hook on their escaping car and lifted them up, throwing them in to an abandoned factory where Starscream sawed the car in half, leaving Sam at the mercy of Megatron. He wanted nothing more than to destroy the human who had destroyed him back in Mission City, but first he sent in one of his agents, Scalpel, to extract the memories and information given to Sam by the shard. What it was needed for didn't become clear until later, as Optimus, Bee, and several other Autobots arrived to save him and the other two. Mikaela and Leo were put in to Bee in order to escape, while Optimus ran with Sam to a nearby forest, only to painful sacrifice himself in front of him in order to keep his friend and comrade protected.

Sam was absolutely devastated by Optimus' death, but had no choice but run to keep his own life and meet up with his friends again. They, however, were forced to go in to hiding, as the Fallen had broadcast Sam's picture to television and Internet sites all across the world, demanding his head or the fate of the entire human race would be decided right then and there.

With police looking for Sam, he had little time to grieve over the loss of Optimus, but it was Leo, after a moment of letting fear take him over, that suggested they find out what the glyphs Sam had been so obsessed with meant. Using Leo's connections, they went after the only other person to apparently have under-the-table information about the Transformers: Leo's Internet rival, 'Robo-Warrior'.

Much to their amazement (and probably a certain degree of irritation) it turned out that Robo-Warrior was ex-Agent Simmons, now out of a real job and working in his mother's deli in New York. At first he was angered to even be approached by the two kids he deemed responsible for his current stake in life, but after hearing about what was going on, he agreed to help. His family had been in Sector Seven since it's initiation with his great grandfather who was part of the original Project Iceman, and as such he had stacks of information and photographic proof that Transformers had been on Earth for centuries, several of the images going along with Sam's glyphs.

With this, and some added information from a much more tame Wheelie, they located an ancient one, known as a Seeker apparently hidden in the Smithsonian Institute. After a rather bumbling attempt to get in (mostly thanks to Leo's inability to operate a taser properly) they got in and went to speak to the Seeker. Though they feared him at first due to his Decepticon insignia, he revealed that he was actually reformed, and on the Autobot's side, but had been on Earth for so long he could barely remember anything, and could barely fight. His name was Jetfire, and after explaining what was going on with glyphs and the war, he aided them by transporting the whole group to Egypt via a space bridge.

It was there that Jetfire told them about the Fallen, the original Primes, and the Matrix of Leadership, the component the Fallen needed to activate his solar harvester. The Matrix was hidden in the Tomb of the Primes, which was located somewhere near where Jetfire had transported them to. Sam thought he could possibly use the Matrix to resurrect Optimus, since there was no chance he would have other way of taking down Megatron and the Fallen.

They located the tomb and the Matrix with Jetfire's only clue, but much to Sam's dismay, it disintegrated upon touch. Not to be undone, certain that it wasn't over yet, he took the dust remains of it in to his sock and headed back to Jordan with his friends.

The battle came to them in full force then. Leo and Simmons split off from them in an attempt to deal with the increasingly large Devastator while Sam and Mikaela tried to make a run for Optimus amongst the fighting between the Decepticons and NEST forces headed up by Major Lennox.

Just seconds before making it to Optimus' dropped location, though, a blast came out and separated Mikaela and Sam, hitting Sam almost full force and nearly killing him. As he hovered between life and death, badly burned and horribly injured, Mikaela cried out for him, screaming that she loved him and couldn't lose him. The sparks of the original seven Primes came to Sam, telling him that the Matrix of Leadership couldn't be given, but had to be earned, a task that he had completed. They revived him, and he in turn revived Optimus, turning the tables in their favor.

The Fallen was defeated by Optimus, but Starscream and Megatron fled, leaving the autobots, NEST, Sam and his friends to head back home and back to their lives as they had originally planned.

But, of course, as stated before, things rarely ever go right for Sam Witwicky...

ᐊ PERSONALITY ᐅ

Sam is probably best described as 'Marty McFly on crack'. Though geeky in every sense of the word, it doesn't however, make him at all shy or reserved. Instead he's awkwardly outgoing, rather spastic, and in short terms, girl-crazy. Getting together with Mikaela, and to a certain extent saving the world not once, but twice, has quelled some of this behavior to a small degree, but he like many young men his age feel he constantly has something to prove, and will often act out or pull stupid stunts in the name of doing so. This actively contradicts the fact that he's actually fairly intelligent, and could do much better things if he put his mind to it.

One thing that his encounters with the Autobots and Decipticons has given him, though, is a certain sense of humility. He doesn't like to boast about what he's done (with the exception of the occasional joke about 'discovering alien life') and he's much happier if the rest of the world doesn't know he was involved.

Sometimes he can come off as even being a little selfish about it, complaining and even once telling Optimus that he didn't want it to be 'his war' after having just started college and attempting to continue his own life as normal. Truthfully, though, Sam would willingly sacrifice himself, despite how scared he might be, than let any of his friends fall in battle. To lose a friend, especially if they die trying to protect him, is something that hurts him greatly, and he often has a difficult time forgiving himself if it does happen. It goes double for Mikaela - if anything ever happened to her, he would be absolutely devastated.

All in all Sam is fairly well rounded for the things he's been through, but his rougher spots shine through more often than not.

ᐊ PARTNER ᐅ

Fanbeemon is a digimon that's been around for a while. As such, he's far older and much more mature than his partner in many aspects. Voice hinted with a slight Cockney accent, he addresses those younger than him with 'lad' or 'lass', though he almost always means it as a term of endearment.

Clearly intelligent, he doesn't talk down to anyone, but rather tries to find the best way to approach a conversation with some one who might not understand. He's patient to a fault, takes his time explaining things, and will rarely lose his temper with anyone, be it his own tamer or some one else.

However, even with that in mind, FB is a hard, dedicated worker to a fault. If there's a job to be taken care of, he's the one who's going to do what it takes to get it done. Having been part of a Fanbeemon hive that helped with construction and building in the Digital World, he was instilled with a strong work ethic very early on, and has carried it with him since. Along with this, he is intensely loyal, and now that he has a partner, refuses to leave Sam's side so long as there might be danger around.
